During the week, students shared their research and findings with judges from across the country, spoke with and learned from experts in the field of their respective projects and experienced the Ottawa area through visits to Rideau Hall, Parliament, the Canadian War Museum, the Canadian Museum of Nature, and a tour of the RCMP stables with a performance by the RCMP Musical Ride.

The CWSF 2024 was hosted at Carleton University and students had the opportunity to visit labs and learn about topics such as geology, digital technology, and neurology. Students explored the STEM-expo which included many hands-on activities presented by industry and universities. Finalists and delegates were treated to a presentation by Canadian astronaut, Jeremy Hanson, who will be aboard the Atermis II mission to orbit the moon in 2025. His inspirational message to the students was to set a goal, work hard to achieve that goal, ask for help along the way, and never let yourself get bogged down with failure – “it’s a part of life and it's important to find ways to work through it”.

Participation in the 2024 Canada Wide Science Fair was a wonderful learning opportunity for students to participate in a variety of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) activities, connect with students from across the country, make lasting friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.
