Thank you for registering your child in the Pre-primary Program in the SRCE for the 2021-2022 school year.
At this time, the anticipated start date for our Pre-primary Programs is Thursday, September 2, 2021. Program hours will vary depending on individual school schedules. For information regarding your school’s program, please refer to the SRCE Pre-primary Program Information Handbook for 2021-2022. You may also access additional information including a supply list and school directory at Pre-primary Programs in the SRCE.
Families are reminded that Pre-Primary is a voluntary program. It is up to families to determine how often your child will attend.
Busing and Associated Information
In the SRCE, busing is available to all pre-primary children eligible to receive bus service. Please contact the SRCE Transportation Department at 902-747-3645 to determine your family’s eligibility to receive bus service.
Please note that busing for all pre-primary children and Grades Primary to 12 students will begin on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. As a result, it may be necessary for families to arrange transportation for their child if they plan to attend Pre-primary on September 2 and 3, 2021.
The Motor Vehicle Act requires all riders under 40 pounds to use a seatbelt on a school bus, if it is available. Parents/guardians will be asked to enter the bus to buckle or unbuckle your child. A staff person will meet your child at the school to unbuckle them and will buckle them in when they leave.
At this time, please note that in accordance with the Public Health Order, all riders and staff will be required to wear non-medical masks while riding the bus and while in school. In addition, while riding school buses, children and students from the same household must sit together. Parents/guardians will also be required to wear a non-medical mask if they enter the bus to buckle or unbuckle their child.
Staff will be planning orientation sessions for families in each of the Pre-primary Program locations before programs open on September 2, 2021. These will be organized in accordance with current COVID-19 public health restrictions and guidance. You will be contacted by your child’s Lead Early Childhood Educator some time between August 27 to 31, 2021.
