You are invited to make submissions and attend a public meeting on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, regarding the review of the number and boundaries of electoral districts.
The Education Act requires that, like other school boards, the Strait Regional School Board (the “SRSB”) must apply to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board every eight years to confirm or change the number and boundaries of the electoral districts for the elected members of the SRSB. This application must be filed by December 31, 2015. Currently, the SRSB has 10 districts. Please access this link for more information regarding the current districts and boundaries.
To assist in preparing the SRSB’s application to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board, interested members of the public are invited to make submissions regarding the number of districts and/or district boundaries. The SRSB will be having a public consultation during its Regular Board Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, December, 2, 2015, 7:00 p.m., in the Board Room at Regional Office, 16 Cemetery Road, Port Hastings, NS. If you are interested in making a submission at this public meeting, please contact Joan Bona, Board Secretary, at 902-625-7065 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, November 30, 2015. A copy of the presentation must be provided to Ms. Bona by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015.
