RED Message to SRCE Families: Provincial Announcement – Schools Move to At-Home Learning for One Week

January 5, 2022

Good Afternoon SRCE Families:

This afternoon, the provincial government announced schools will move to at-home learning for one week beginning Monday, January 10, 2022. Schools will remain open for students who are supported by Learning Centres and will reopen to in-person learning on Monday, January 17, 2022.

You may access the news release at the following link:

Schools Move to At-Home Learning for One Week

We understand many of our students may not have their needed technology or materials with them.  Principals and school staff are working on details of how you can get what you need and will communicate with you soon.

You can expect a combination of real-time instruction delivered by teachers and self-directed learning. Students will have opportunities to engage virtually with their peers, their teachers, and other supports. For an overview of what at-home learning will look like, click here.

If you are looking for information about curriculum, physical activity, mental health or for technology support, click here.

During at-home learning, if you are in emergency need of food, please call 211 for assistance from Feed Nova Scotia.

Your next update will come from your child’s teacher/school.

Thank you for everything you are doing to support one another with kindness and understanding.

With much appreciation,

Paul Landry
