Strait Regional School Board Celebrates Canadian School Counselling Week, February 1 to 5, 2016

School counsellors are valued members of our school teams in supporting student success. The role of school counsellors is to foster student growth with respect to their personal, social, educational, career development, mental health and well-being.  The Strait Regional School Board thanks all school counsellors for their exceptional efforts in helping students achieve success in school, in their daily lives and in preparing for their future.

New Online Recruiting System to be Implemented in the Strait Regional School Board

Effective Thursday, January 28, 2016, the Strait Regional School Board will be using to a new online recruiting system for employment opportunities called SuccessFactors. This new system will allow you to view and apply for jobs with the Strait Regional School Board as well as other boards across the Province from one convenient online location.

School Board Meeting Notice

Due to the tragic loss affecting school communities in the Strait Regional School Board, please be advised that the Board’s Regular Monthly Meeting scheduled for this evening, Wednesday, December 2, 2015, has been postponed.  The meeting will now be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, 7:00 p.m.  The public consultation regarding the School Board’s application to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board will proceed this evening as required.

SRSB Extends Condolences

The Strait Regional School Board extends sincere and deepest sympathies to the families and friends as well as the school communities of Richmond Education Centre/Academy and Felix Marchand Education Centre as they deal with the loss of two students and a teacher due to a motor vehicle accident today, Tuesday, December 1, 2015.

SRSB Students and Staff to Participate in We Day Atlantic 2015 Event

On Friday, November 27, 2015, about 450 Strait Regional School Board Grades 6 to 12 students, staff and chaperones will join thousands of others at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax for an exciting, International and educational event, We Day Atlantic. For anyone at home interested in watching the excitement, the event will be live via webcast from the We Day website at
