Two East Antigonish Education Centre/Academy Students, Charlie Ashawasegai and Haley Paul, Run Half Marathon in the Cayman Islands

Congratulations to East Antigonish Education Centre/Academy students, Charlie Ashawasegai (Grade 9) and Haley Paul (Grade 12), who completed their first Half Marathon in the Cayman Islands on December 2, 2018!!  This event is an incredible opportunity where First Nation students from the East Coast come together with Indigenous youth from across Canada including Nunavik, Northern Ontario and Northern Quebec, as students, athletes, roles models and as philanthropists.

New Teacher Support Program Rescheduled

Please note that the New Teacher Support Program originally scheduled for Tuesday, December 4, 2018, has been rescheduled to Thursday, December 6, 2018.

The session will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 pm at SAERC.

SRCE: School Bus Safety Awareness Week – October 14 to 20, 2018

The Strait Regional Centre for Education reminds everyone that school bus safety is a shared responsibility.  Please slow down in school zones, and pay extra attention to students waiting for the school bus and walking to and from school.  Please never pass a school bus when its red lights are flashing.

Dr. Sharroky Hollie to Lead Professional Development Session for 750 Staff of the SRCE

Approximately 750 staff of the Strait Regional Centre for Education (including all teachers, school administrators, teacher assistants, programs and student services staff and pre-primary program staff) as well as guests from the Atlantic Provinces Special Education Authority (APSEA) and Mi’kmaw Kina’matnewey, will take part in an exceptional learning opportunity focused on culturally responsive practices on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre.
