Congratulations to Students and Award Recipients of the Strait Regional Science Fair 2024
Congratulations to all students and award recipients who took part in the 2024 Strait Regional Science Fair held on April 9, 2024, at the Nova Scotia Community College, Strait Area Campus. This year the Science Fair was in a hybrid format with 45 students participating virtually and 70 students participating in-person, an impressive showcase and celebration of 88 science-based projects.

Grand Prize Best in Fair: Elise Munro, Grade 10; Dalbrae Academy; Project – Lyme Time: A Novel Way to Detect Lyme Disease
Grand Prize 2nd Overall: Beth Tubman, Grade 10; Dalbrae Academy; Project – Dependable Desalination
Grand Prize 3rd Overall: Irelyn MacLennan, Grade 7; St. Andrew Junior School; Project – Sprout vs. Drought
Grand Prize 4th Overall: Saanvi Vishwakarma, Grade 7; St. Andrew Junior School; Project – Microscopic Investigation of Indigenous Food Preservation Technique
The four grand prize winners will attend the Canada Wide Science Fair scheduled for May 26 to June 1, 2024, in Ottawa.
